As part of Children with Disability Australia’s celebrations of International Day of People with Disability, you are invited to join Peter Garrett, Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth, for afternoon tea on Monday 5 December at Garran Public School, Gilmore Crescent, Garran ACT.
International Day of People with Disability is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being. Garran Public School is well placed to host this event as the school has an outstanding reputation for providing an inclusive community which welcomes, educates and greatly enriches a diverse group of students, including those with disability. CDA will be hosting a similar event in Melbourne on the same day.
The Minister will arrive at the school at 1.30pm and after a short tour of the school will join parents of children with disability for an afternoon tea and informal discussion until 2.30pm. If you would like to attend this event please email stephanieg@cda.org.au by Friday 2 December 2011. RSVP is essential and as places are limited to 20 members it is advised that you let us know as soon as possible so that you are not disappointed.
